This tool allows you to start automatic saving when you like, set the time interval that suits your needs, select the directory in which you want to save the scenes you are working on, and choose the name for your saved files. Additionally, if active, AutoSave will ask you if you'd like to save the scene before each rendering to make sure that your work is not lost if something goes wrong during the rendering time. This tool gives you two options for saving, "Overwrite" and "Save new", the first option will save one file and overwrite it in a given time interval, and the second option will save a new file every time. AutoSave will stop in case you close the DazStudio application, it will ask you if you'd like to stop saving when you try to load a new scene, and this product also contains a "Stop AutoSave" script that will stop the saving session in one click whenever you like. This tool is designed for all DazStudio users, it's very simple and easy to use, even if you don't have too much experience. How To Use: STEP 1 - Click on the "AutoSave" icon. STEP 2 - The "AutoSave" window will appear. In this window you will see: -"Saving interval" slider- here you need to select a number of minutes in which the saving of the scene will happen (every selected number of minutes the scene will be saved). -"Select Directory" button- this button will open a "Select Directory" window which will allow you to choose a directory where you want to save the files. Under this button, you will see the path to the selected directory. -"Overwrite" checkbox- This check box is checked by default, if it stays checked, AutoSave will save one scene file and overwrite that same file in a given time interval. That means that you will always have just one saved file during this saving session. -"Save new" checkbox- If this checkbox is checked, AutoSave will save a new file in every given number of minutes. A number will be added to the name of every saved file so you can see in which order they were saved. NOTE: Keep in mind that this option may use up a significant amount of memory, depending on the time interval, size of the scene, and time spent saving. -"Saved file name" textbox- By default it will be "AutoSave", and if you don't write a custom name here this is how the saved files will be named (if "Overwrite" is checked, the saved file will be named "AutoSave.duf", or "AutoSave0.duf", "AutoSave1.duf", "AutoSave2.duf", etc if the "Save new" option is checked). Do not write any extension at the end of the name, it will be added automatically. NOTE: It is important to know that AutoSave will overwrite the files with the same name if they already exist in the given directory, that is why you should name the files of every saving session differently or choose a different directory for each session (if you don't want them to be overwritten, of course). STEP 3 - When you want to stop the AutoSave, double-click on the "Stop AutoSave" icon. A notification box will appear to inform you that AutoSave is now disabled. ADDITIONALLY: When you start to render your scene, AutoSave will pop up to ask if you'd like to save before rendering starts. This functionality is added because rendering may sometimes put DazStudio in a non-responsive state and may cause you to lose your unsaved work. If you forget to stop AutoSave and close the application, AutoSave will stop. If AutoSave is active and you try to load a new scene, it will ask you if you still want to continue the same saving session to prevent overwriting the previously saved scene. When AutoSave is active, an empty .txt file will appear in its directory (it won't be visible inside DazStudio, only in the folder), this is a control file, do not delete it, if you do so, the saving session will stop. This file will disappear by itself when the session is stopped. Additional information for each element in the window is provided by clicking on "?" (What's This?) and then on these elements.
