Poser 11 for Superfly volumetric materials. Works with DAZ Studio 4.9 (available free from DAZ 3D) but materials are not available in that program. Works with ANY program capable of importing OBJ files. Materials not provided. Models Required: None Any addons required to use: None ====================================================================== ABOUT THE SET ====================================================================== This set of splashes and splats has been carefully simulated to represent actual fluids. There are 24 different model simulations representing fluids of varying viscosities struck by objects at different angles and shapes, and at different velocities. Go to the props library to find the splashes if you are using this product in Poser or Daz Studio. You will find them under AcePyx/Splashes. Double click to load the required model. It will come into the scene at ground height scaled to several metres across or tall. By default each model includes polygon smoothing turned ON. Fluid sims very quickly become very polygon heavy, easily running to millions of polygons per splash. To avoid bloating your scenes and stealing all of your memory, I have optimised each model in order to find a compromise between resolution and file/memory size. As a result, polygon smoothing must be turned on both for the model AND in your render settings. If you require a specific model for higher resolution work, I will try to accomodate you, although I do not guarantee that they will be neatly cropped and processed. Just contact me via the email address below. Because of complexities with interactions with your existing terrains, as well as Poser's inability to handle double-sided textures, the splashes have mostly been created as caps designed to sit on top of your existing surfaces, be they ponds, tiled floors or deserts. For a nice clean interface between my splashes and your scenery, I suggest that you bury the splashes a few millimetres into your scenery. You can bury them deeper if your scenery is opaque, but if you are placing my splashes on a transparent surface, deep penetration may cause visible rim lines. Please note, if you are using a circular splash on an opaque (non see through) surface or on a surface that has a different texture to the splash, you may wish to add a small disk sized the same approximate radius as the hole in the centre as an inner base for the circular splashes. To find the disk go to Poser's Props/Primitives folder and choose Hires disk. You should apply the same material to this disk as to the splash. If you are using the splash on a transparent plane, you may wish to depress the plane using Poser's morph tool to simulate the fluid's inner impact OR to allow the inner depression of the crown to show through. If you are using a plane as a water surface, you may wish to subdivide the plane to level 2 before doing so. To do this, select the plane, click its properties tab, then move the subdivision levels preview slider to 2. You can find a variety of textures in the materials library. Materials in the "traditional" folder will work with Poser 6 and higher and DAZ Studio(although results may vary from version to version). Materials in the Superfly folder will only work with Poser's PBR Superfly render engine. These materials are often volumetric so be sure that you set Volumetric Bounces in the Superfly render settings to at least 1. These Superfly materials are far more sensitive to lighting, background lightness, and distance from the camera. The water effects work best against light coloured backgrounds with some degree of back lighting and objects or backgrounds behind to shine through the water. WARNING!!! Using even small transparent objects in Poser can DRAMATICALLY increase render times. I strongly suggest that you perform all scene building and test renders using solid materials such as blood, and only swap in transparent ones at final render. USE IN DAZ STUDIO There are no specific DAZ files included. However, provided you are using the latest version of DAZ Studio you will be able to load the models. However you will NOT be able to use the Poser Superfly materials and the Poser 6 ones will produce unpredictable results. USE IN OTHER 3D PROGRAMS You can use these models in any 3D program that can import models in OBJ (Wavefront object) format. The obj versions are stored at Runtime\Geometries\AcePyx\Liquids\Splashes Do NOT modify the original files as these are required for the DAZ and Poser installs. ====================================================================== TAGS ====================================================================== splash, splat, puddle, drip, impact, crown, spray ====================================================================== COPYRIGHT & LICENSE ====================================================================== Copyright (c) 2017 Ace Pyx.
